From a pharmacy all the way to Mont Blanc

Petr Pargač hesitated for a long time between studying pharmacy and dentistry. In the end, he chose pharmacy, graduating from Masaryk University in 2022, and then set out abroad to gain experience. Today, he runs a pharmacy in a small Norwegian town 350km above the Arctic Circle.

For more than 20 years, Peter Kollár has been committed to experimental pharmacology and the mechanisms of action of the substances studied. Together with his team, he is currently looking for ways to enhance the effects of anti-tumour immunotherapy in combination with other substances.

These outstanding scientists carry out their research work at the Department of Chemical Drugs, where our students can meet them during their studies. Life is hiding even in the ice of Antarctica – and perhaps future medicines are too: Interview with Stanislava Bezdíček Králová

Read an interesting interview with our successful researcher RNDr. Stanislava Bezdíček Králová, Ph.D., who works as an assistant professor at our Department of Molecular Pharmacy. Dr Králová is a microbiologist and scientist focused on finding new bioactive substances produced by extremophile bacteria, especially from the Antarctic environment. In 2023, she received the "Creative Superhero Czech Republic" award for her international impact and innovative thinking in the field of microbial ecology.

Research team led by Ondřej Jurček successfully advances development of a new therapy in cancer treatment

Czech scientists from the Faculty of Pharmacy and CEITEC Masaryk University have developed new molecular structures that could significantly advance cancer treatment. These so-called 'supramolecular nanocages' can deliver drugs directly to cancer cells, thereby increasing the effectiveness of treatment while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. This amazing achievement was reported by all major Czech media outlets last week.

Carefully balanced blend of learning opportunity and hands-on laboratory practice with rich cultural and social activities created the ultimate summer experience.

New study programme Cosmetology and Cosmetic Products successfully passed accreditation

The Faculty of Pharmacy has a big reason to celebrate because the expected follow-up Master's degree programme: Cosmetology and Cosmetic Products has received accreditation and will be open to the first students from the autumn semester of the academic year 2026/2027. It will be primarily offered to the graduates of the Bachelor programme: Cosmetic Products, but also for other applicants with a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields of education, such as Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy or Health Sciences.
