Apply for visa
Visa requirements for non-EU students
Accepted students must apply for a long-term visa or residence permit for the purpose of studies. You have to file your application at the Embassy or Consulate General of the Czech Republic abroad, usually in your country of citizenship. Applications cannot be filed in the Czech Republic. Verify your secondary school certificate
Verification of foreign education
Condition for admission to study in the Master's degree program Pharmacy is the completion of a secondary education finished with a school-leaving examination. You'll be required to present final secondary school certificate with correct authentication stamp no later than the day of enrolment to studies (beginning of September).
In case you need superlegalization stamp: arrange at the Czech embassy of the country which issued the secondary school certificate. In case you need Apostille: arrange with country office

Practical steps
- Dormitory reservation
If you wish to stay in dormitories during your studies, reservation of dormitories must be done separately. In 2025/2056 is starts on 14 July 10:00am via reservation system of the university. Detailed information for booking accommodation is here.
- Recognition of courses from previous study
If you studied pharmacy or similar study program at higher education institution in the past 5 years, you can apply for courses recognition online via study system. Guide will be sent to eligible students by email.
- Pay tuition fee
At least one instalment must be paid by the date of enrolment. Payment gate will open in July 2025. Tuition fee instalment calendar is provided on website Tuition fee.

Enrolment to studies
Becoming student of Masaryk University
Only by enrolling to studies in person you become student of Faculty of Pharmacy, Masaryk University. We explain everything regarding study requirements and student's rights, make timetable and answer all your questions. Don't forget to bring verified copy of secondary school certificate.
The latest date for enrolment in 2025/2026 will be 12 September 2025.

Orientation week for new students
Get a first experience with MU and Brno
Orientation week is organized by Center for International Cooperation MU (CZS MU) one week before each semester starts. There are formal and informal activities included. You can join for free or pay for fun activities, such as Czech language course, pub crawl etc.

Foreign Police
Report your stay in the Czech republic (EU nationalities)
If you come from an EU member country (or Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland), you are exempt from the student visa requirements. You are not required to have any additional medical insurance, although we highly recommend it.
After arrival, you are obliged to report your stay to Foreign Police Department within 30 days after entering the Czech republic. In Brno, the Foreign Police is located in Kounicova 24.
This obligation does not apply to students accommodated in the Halls of Residence. In this case, the management of Halls of Residence will do it on your behalf.

- Medical insurance
As non-EU citizen, having medical travel insurance is part of visa process. Therefore, you have full access to medical care as Czech citizen, and you don't need to get another card.
If you are EU citizen or other countries on special list, we strongly recommend to register your EHIC card (blue card) with VZP insurance company to get Czech insurance number. The Czech insurance number will provide medical coverage to the same extent as to the Czech citizens.
Before visiting a doctor, you need to register with GP and some specialists (such as dentist, gynaecologist, dermatologist). List of English speaking doctors can be found here.
- ISIC card
ISIC card serves as identity student card of MU student, but also provides discounts in 180 countries in the world. You can get discounts on public transport in Brno, on food, electronics etc. Discounts are entitled for students up to 26 years of age. Before you can order ISIC card, you need to arrange a photo in study system. Photographing on ID cards is provided by University Computer Center.
- Brno public transport card
Discounted Travel Card can be purchased online via BrnoID account. In order to be eligible for reduced price for public transport, you verify your student status by providing student number or ISIC card number.
