Educating healthcare professionals since 1952
The Faculty of Pharmacy was established as a part of Masaryk University, the second biggest university in Czechia in 1952. In 1960 it was closed down and merged with the existing Faculty of Pharmacy in Bratislava. The faculty returned to Brno in1991 as part of Veterinary University, renamed the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno. On 1 July 2020 the faculty returned back to Masaryk University, and in 2026 it will be relocated to the MU campus in Bohunice as part of the BioPharma Hub.
Studies and research
at the faculty
The faculty educates students on the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. We educate pharmacists in five-year master's degree programmes Pharmacy, one taught in Czech and one in English. Our bachelor's programme Cosmetic products is very unique, as it is the only programme of its kind in the Czech Republic. A follow-up master's programme Cosmetology and Cosmetics has been newly accredited and will welcome its first students in the fall semester of the 2026/27 academic year.
Scientific and research activities are carried out at six departments, often in cooperation with the medical and natural science departments of our university. Learn more about the areas of research and our current research projects here.
