On Monday, 19 May a lecture titled “Pharmaceutical Regulation and Incentives for Innovation in an International Perspective” was held in the refectory of the Mendel Museum, led by Professor Pierre Dubois of the Toulouse School of Economics. The event was part of the prestigious Social Sciences & Humanities Seminar Series organized by Masaryk University.
Professor Dubois is a leading expert in the fields of health economics, the pharmaceutical market, and innovation. In his lecture, he focused on how various forms of regulation influence the development of new drugs and the availability of innovations in an international context. He also discussed issues related to research and development funding, international differences in drug pricing, and the impact of international cooperation on promoting pharmaceutical innovation.
The lecture was moderated by Associate Professor Jakub Hlávka, Ph.D., Director of the Health Economics, Policy and Innovation Institute (HEPII). The discussion following the lecture provided an opportunity for questions regarding the future of pharmaceutical regulation, the availability of modern treatments, and the role of international cooperation in healthcare.
