Graduation ceremony of the unique class 2025
On Friday, 20 June, we celebrated the newest Masters of Pharmacy, our graduating class of 2025.
On Friday 9 June 2023, Director of the hospital Ing. Vlastimil Vajdák, and the Dean of our faculty prof. David Vetchý signed an agreement on cooperation between the faculty and the ICRC - International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne's University Hospital (FNUSA) and the Faculty of Medicine MU.
"By signing the agreement with FNUSA, we are further expanding our successful cooperation with the ICRC. The Faculty of Pharmacy is putting emphasis on practical learning during studies which includes taking advantage of the research opportunities. Making our young researchers take part in complex projects carried out in the joint workplace can only enhance their professional development and allow them to establish new contact with experienced scientists,” explains professor Vetchý.
Part of the agreement is building a joint research facility focused on preclinical and clinical research, that is research in laboratory as well as work with patients. The primary aim is development and testing of new drugs and medical equipment, so-called wide-spectrum products used in healthcare, from surgical sutures or catheters to sophisticated diagnostic devices. Clinical testing will be used to determine their effectiveness as well as safety.
Director Vajdák further comments: “Added value of FNUSA is the functional infrastructure for clinical studies. We believe that partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy will bring new solutions for better diagnostics and treatment. The joint workplace will also allow the opportunity of contractual research to third parties.”
For prof. MUDr. Irena Rektorová, Ph.D, the Scientific and Executive Director of the ICRC, the agreement represents a new opportunity for joint research grant proposals. “Bringing together outstanding scientists from both workplaces will enhance the prestige of both of our institutions and appeal to other talented researchers from the Czech Republic and abroad. As of now, the Faculty of Pharmacy is the third faculty of MU deepening the partnership with ICRC and thus effectively conjoining the academia and research with the industry,” concludes professor Rektorová.
On Friday, 20 June, we celebrated the newest Masters of Pharmacy, our graduating class of 2025.
The Faculty of Pharmacy has a big reason to celebrate because the expected follow-up Master's degree programme: Cosmetology and Cosmetic Products has received accreditation and will be open to the first students from the autumn semester of the academic year 2026/2027. It will be primarily offered to the graduates of the Bachelor programme: Cosmetic Products, but also for other applicants with a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields of education, such as Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy or Health Sciences.
