Study requirements
Before defending the dissertation, PhD students must complete the following requirements:
- Fulfill the Individual Study Plan
- Earn a minimum of 240 credits
- Complete all compulsory and elective courses according to the study plan
- Carry out publication and research activities:
- Students enrolled after 1 July 2025: must publish at least two J-type articles indexed in Web of Science related to the dissertation topic. For at least one article, the student must be first author or corresponding author, and it must be an original scientific paper (Jimp).
- Students enrolled before 1 July 2025: must publish at least one scientific article in an impact‑factor journal related to the dissertation topic as first or corresponding author.
- Complete a research stay abroad or otherwise engage directly in international collaboration
- Prepare the dissertation containing published results
- Successfully complete the final state exam in the form of the dissertation defence
