    You will study your first semester online.

    Application period for programs taught in English:
    Programs starting in September (Fall semester): January 1 - April 30
    Programs starting in February (Spring semester): July 1 - October 31

    File your application until the deadline for your chosen semester (Spring semester starting in February, Fall semester starting in September) and upload all the relevant documents so that the department can assess your application.

    You do not have to come to Brno personally to take the entrance exam. The result of the admission process depends on the quality of the documents that you provide. The committee will judge your documents, and you will be notified about the results via e-mail.

    Pay the application fee

    Pay the application fee (1,000 CZK) by April 30th (for enrollment in the Fall semester) or by October 31st (for enrollment in the Spring semester). Find out the deadline for payments and other FAQ about the application here

  • Beginning of May // November

    Assessment of your application

    The responsible department will assess your application and the documents you uploaded with it. You do not have to come to Brno to take an entrance exam. Your application will be reviewed on the basis of the documents you submitted and on the basis of a Skype interview.

  • Mid-May // Mid-November

    Results

    We will notify you about the result of the admission process via e-mail in Mid-May (for Fall semester) or Mid-November (for Spring semester). If you completed your application earlier you might be notified earlier as well.

    Applicants applying within the extended application deadline will be informed about the result individually in the course of the extended application filing period.

  • After you’ve been accepted

    What to do now?
    1. You will receive Confirmation of acceptance/Letter of acceptance (via e-mail).
    2. You will be asked to pay the tuition fee (via online link).
    3. You will be asked to supply documents about your previous education (via e-mail).
    4. You will be sent your visa documents.
    5. Apply for a visa, contact the embassy in your country.
  • Recognition of Foreign Education

    Recognition of Foreign Education at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University (programs taught in English)

    For successful admission of applicants for study at Masaryk University is needed to have done the recognition of documents. Recognition can be done by so-called nostrification or verification. Verification is done at the Faculty of Arts.

    Verification

    • This verification is valid only for the specific program you were admitted to within the specific admission term at the Faculty of Arts.
    • This verification applies only to degree programs taught in English. Students who were admitted to degree programs taught in Czech shall address their questions to overovani@phil.muni.cz.
    • It costs 600 CZK. Admitted students who don't need so-called nostrification can contact the Admission Office at verification@phil.muni.cz. They will be provided with a link for payment for the service of verification.
    Applicants applying within the extended application filing period need to keep in mind that they have to complete verification/nostrification before the beginning of the new semester which is going to be October 5th, 2020 (the absolutely latest day you will be able to get enrolled to the studies is October 18th, 2020).

    What documents do I need?

  • Before arrival to Brno

    1. You will get your login and password to our accommodation system in order to apply for student dorms.
    2. Register for Orientation Week.
    3. You will be asked to sign a contract with the Faculty of Arts (contract proposal will be sent via e-mail).
  • After arrival

    Arrive to Brno (see how to get to Brno) and move into your student dorms (see here).
    Order your ISIC (you will get a link via e-mail).

  • September // February

    On the day of your enrollment

    Please be sure to bring the following items with you:

    Bachelor:

    1. Your passport
    2. Certified/notarized copy of your high school diploma 
    3. Apostille/Super-legalization of your high school diploma in case you need it (more can be found here).
    4. Confirmation of accreditation of your high school 

    OR

    1. Your passport
    2. Certified/notarized copy of your high school diploma
    3. Certified/notarized copy of your high school diploma nostrification

     

    Master:

    1. Your passport
    2. Certified/notarized copy of your BA diploma 
    3. Apostille/Super-legalization of your BA diploma in case you need it (more can be found here).
    4. Certified/notarized copy of your Diploma Supplement/Transcript 

     OR

    1. Your passport
    2. Certified/notarized copy of your BA diploma
    3. Certified/notarized copy of your BA diploma nostrification

     

    PhD.:

    Official translation to Czech or English is necessary for all the documents issued in any other language than Czech (Slovak) or English.
