Describe your journey to the Faculty of Pharmacy

I was always fascinated by chemistry and in my high school chemistry was taught very well and by my favourite teacher. I applied to study medicine but it wasn't my cup of tea and so I started looking for other options that involved more chemistry but were still involved in healthcare. I found that Masaryk University offered pharmacy and I sent my application. The application process was super easy and the study office were helpful whenever I needed some help.

What did you like about your studies?

I think the best part about my studies were the practical lab classes, when you start work, you don't get to have fun in a lab and do interesting experiments. I think also the fact that the teachers always tried to help the students in any way they could was really nice as they tried to accommodate whether it was by offering multiple exam dates or having consultation hours for us to contact them.

What advice would you give to new students?

I would advise them to take the subjects as they are recommended as understanding the basics allows you to build on the knowledge you have in the future. I would also recommend them to enjoy the time at university as much as possible and make friend from various faculties as these friendships can last a lifetime.

What do you do now, and how does your journey continue?

I am currently working in a hospital pharmacy in which I did a part of my final year practice. I am also considering further carrying on my studies to do the advanced masters thesis at the faculty of pharmacy.
