53rd Conference on Synthesis and Analysis of Drugs: Information for participants

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we warmly welcome you to the 53rd Conference on Synthesis and Analysis of Drugs (SAL 2025), under the auspices of Rector Prof. MUDr. Martin Bareš, Ph.D.

Please save the upcoming date, September 17–19, 2025, to meet each other soon, at the picturesque scenery of Hotel Kurdějov in South Moravia. This year's event promises to be a stimulating forum blending tradition, innovation, and collaboration.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the attached list of sponsors, whose generous support ensures the conference's success.

Scientific Program Highlights

The conference program features lectures and a poster session. Participants will benefit from opportunities to engage with leaders in the field and explore the latest developments in:

  • New synthetic and analytical methods for preparing bioactive compounds and characterizing their physicochemical properties
  • Biological activity testing of chemical compounds
  • Total synthesis of biologically active molecules
  • Isolation and structural analysis of natural substances
  • Pharmacology and toxicology of natural products
  • Broader advances in organic synthesis

This year, we are honored to host distinguished invited speakers, including:

  • Dr. Norbert Jakubowski (BAM Berlin), discussing elemental labels and tags as tools for drug development
  • prof. Dr. Gunda Köllensperger (University of Vienna), exploring single-cell analysis in metal-based drug research
  • prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kroutil (University of Graz), focusing on biocatalysis to streamline the synthesis of bioactive molecules
  • Assoc. prof. Dr. István Mándity (Semmelweis University/Research Centre for Natural Sciences), with a lecture on flow chemistry in drug development
  • prof. Dr. Henrik Sundén (University of Gothenburg), showcasing ortho-borylation strategies for aromatics
  • Assoc. prof. Dr. Peter Verwilst (KU Leuven), talking about 3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2(1H)-ones as potential anti-retroviral drugs
