NanoBioInteractions Lab, led by Dr. Amitava Moulick, focuses on the rational design and development of advanced nanomaterials for biomedical applications, with particular emphasis on antibacterial nanotherapeutics targeting multidrug‑resistant pathogens.
The lab investigates how engineered nanomaterials interact with biological systems at the molecular, cellular, microbial, and tissue levels to enable next‑generation therapeutic and diagnostic platforms.
Our research integrates synthetic chemistry, nanomaterial engineering, molecular biology, microbiology, peptide engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, and mechanistic studies of nanomaterial–biological interactions.
Through this interdisciplinary approach, we aim to advance the fundamental understanding of how nanomaterials influence biological processes and translate this knowledge into innovative therapeutic and diagnostic technologies.
Mechanistic Studies
Elucidation of molecular mechanisms underlying nanomaterial activity and their interactions with biological systems.
Antibacterial Nanotherapeutics
Development of nanomaterials designed to combat multidrug‑resistant bacterial pathogens and support innovative therapeutic strategies.
Nanomaterial–Biological Interactions
Investigation of how nanomaterials interact with cells, microbes, and tissues to understand their biological effects and mechanisms of action.
Peptide-Based Nanoplatforms
Integration of peptide components into nanomaterials to enhance targeting, stability, and biological activity.
Asistant Professor, Faculty of Pharmacy, Masaryk University
Dr. Moulick specializes in antibacterial nanotherapeutics and the mechanistic study of nanomaterial–biological interactions, with a strong focus on translational biomedical applications.
